The tension between the two is our path. We must be brave enough to feel our trauma, to work with it through meditation, kindness to our hearts, healthy habits of joyful discipline, and open communication. We must learn to grow bored of drama, whether it is others' or self-inflicted.
Life is not for the faint of heart. Ships are safe in port—but they are not built to stay there.
We long for the open sea.
